Our eyelids are often one of the first places where we notice the signs of ageing. As the skin loses its elasticity it may sag or droop, leading to a tired and aged appearance. Blepharoplasty removes the excess skin and provides a fresher and younger look. Those whose upper eyelids are affecting their field of vision may often have to raise their eyebrows to see better, making it difficult to carry out normal day-to-day activities; repeated forehead lifting also contributes to the development of deep lines and wrinkles, making us appear older. Unlike other cosmetic procedures, a blepharoplasty offers a long-lasting solution. Of course, the ageing process will continue, and results will vary from person to person, but in most cases a well-performed blepharoplasty procedure should last between 10-15 years.
